Cherokee Removal Memorial Park is a cooperative effort among many Partners, Supporting Organizations and Individual Contributors:

PARTNERS:

Friends of the Cherokee Removal Memorial Park developed the concept and promoted building a Cherokee Removal Memorial. It is a nonprofit corporation that supports Meigs County, TN in the promotion, planning, operation and fund raising for the Park.

Meigs County, TN Government is responsible for planning, building, operation and maintenance of the Park on land leased from the Tennessee Valley Authority(TVA).

Tennessee Valley Authority owns the Historic Blythe Ferry site where over 9,000 Cherokees were evicted from their ancestral land which is part of the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge on which the Park is built. TVA may provide waterfront improvements as part of the Park.

Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency(TWRA) operates the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge and has provided a Wildlife Observation Facility as part of the Park.

National Park Service(NPS) identified Blythe Ferry as a potential Interruptive Site as part of the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail authorized by Congress. NPS has provided signs and technical support in planning and developing a conceptual plan for the Park.
